Second place prize winner

Natasha Zraikat and Rachel Favelle with Natasha’s second prize-winning work, A New Era at the opening night exhibition and of the Art of Imagination.

It was such a great pleasure to have been awarded second place at the recent Art of Imagination competition opening night exhibition at Petrie Terrace Gallery in Brisbane.

The exhibition boasts a wonderfully diverse collection of Imaginative art, in a myriad of different styles and techniques, including imaginative realism, magical realism, surrealism, illustrative and abstract art.

I got to finally meet one of my favourite local artists (and judge of the evening) Rachel Favelle and enjoyed the beautiful work of many other imaginative artists. A huge congratulations to all the other finalists on such a great opening night.

Among the other prize-winning artists of the evening, there was Laura McCormack who took the first place award, Robbie Erskine who was awarded third place, Chris Cornish who took the young artist excellence award and Dave Groom who received the Royal Queensland Art Society’s Fellow’s Recognition award. Jared Fountain’s artwork was highly commended (as well as being a personal favourite of mine).

The exhibition will be on show for a month from mid November to mid December, so be sure to pop in and treat your eyes and soul to some excellent imaginative and magical artworks if you’re near Brisbane.

If you are near Brisbane be sure to stop in for a look, the show is on display at Petrie Terrace Gallery until the 15th of December 2023. You can also click here to read a bit more about the process and thoughts behind my work in the exhibition, A New Era.
