This work entitled ‘Meanwhile, on the Ground’ is a response to the 2020 Australian Bushfires. I was distraught about the number of animals who has lost their lives, and were being overlooked. This little brushtail possum may be small, but as we gaze into his wide, captivating eyes front and centre in this artwork, he demands our attention and wins our heart. We humans are great at observing what the world can do for us, but we all too often forget that we share this world with infinite other beings, each one experiencing it from their own unique viewpoint.
