This animal allegory is also found in the sister painting in this series (entitled Act Four : The Dream), and represent various parts of Natasha's own psyche and how she perceives reality.

Natasha's affection for magpies is apparent in her recent works, representing the polarity of existence, safety, family, and her immediate natural surroundings. Here we see one such bird, perched watchfully against a glowing sky. Both the birds, as well as the brilliant sky scapes in her works are loving tributes to the natural world that surrounds her.

Building upon previous years in contemporary portraiture, Natasha’s more recent works look beyond the physical subject - diving into the realms of deeper consciousness and the human relationship with the natural and spiritual worlds. Thoughtful compositions, glowing palettes and painterly brushwork combine, blurring the lines which often define realism and inviting the viewer into a dream-like state where intuitive meaning triumphs over physical reality.
