Natasha is fascinated with animals, humanity and how the two interconnect. The animal allegories found in her work represent various parts of her own psyche and how she perceives reality. In her childhood years she observed, drew and studied animals, almost obsessively. As an adult, for several years, she painted only people. In her latest works, Natasha reintroduces a combination of animals, humans and hybrids to her work as a symbolic return to her deeper, truer self. This lifelong affinity with animals has also seen Natasha grow into a passionate environmentalist, and these themes have begun to spill into her work in recent years as her concerns about the state of the natural world continue to intensify.
